5 North - East Vietnam Adventure

Day 1

This morning, you depart from Hanoi, the capital city, for a three-hour drive on National Highway 1A to reach Lang Son City. Upon arrival in this border city, you will explore the local market. Then, you will continue your journey along stunning mountain roads to Cao Bang. This drive offers breathtaking views of lush valleys, village hamlets, and distant mountains. When you arrive in Cao Bang, a small town near the Chinese border, you will have time for a short walk to see the vibrant mountain tribes living in the area.

Day 2

Breakfast will be at the hotel.

Spend today exploring the untouched nature around Cao Bang as you drive along the Chinese border to Ban Gioc Waterfall. Nestled in breathtaking scenery near the border, Ban Gioc is one of the largest waterfalls in the country. You'll have time to relax or swim in its emerald waters. Return to Cao Bang in the late afternoon and take the opportunity to explore more of this charming town.

Day 3

Breakfast will be at the hotel.

Early this morning, depart for a drive north toward the Chinese border to visit the historical cave where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked when he returned to Vietnam in the early 1940s. Along the way, stop at exotic local markets to mingle with the hill tribes as they barter their goods. Return to Cao Bang by midday, have lunch, and then drive to Ba Be National Park in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you'll meet and get to know a Tay tribe family and spend the night in their traditional long house in the Tay village.

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel

After breakfast, go on a three-hour boat trip to take in the stunning views of Ba Be Lake and the surrounding mountains. Then, take a short hike to Dau Dang Waterfall before visiting some villages of the Tay and Zao minority communities, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way.

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast, explore Cho Ra market. Then, return to Hanoi, stopping for sightseeing, photo opportunities. Arrive back in Hanoi late in the afternoon, concluding the tour.
